i have a lot of people who ask me about setting up websites and hosting and what not. i’ve never had any issues with the company i use, and the rates are really reasonable. if you ever need hosting services (or know someone that does), i’d highly recommend 1 and 1. (and if you subscribe with that link, i get a little kickback. hooray for me!)

so i’m testing a little project to bring some more interesting content to the blinkinglinejournal. the original idea for the BLJ was to be a collaborative effort among 5 friends, writing articles and whatnot and sending them out via email. this was in 1997. the interweb has progressed a lot, i’ve not heard from some of the original BLJ crew in years, but i’ve always wanted this to be a more collaborative project. a lot of my friends and acquaintances have blogs, and most of them get the mention here from time to time, but what if i could find a way to instantly replicate their posts here without any extra effort? so i worked out a way to do that, and we’ll see how it all goes down. admittedly, i didn’t get permission for any of these, so if anyone on this list is offended for being here, feel free to send me an email, and i’ll promptly remove it. of course, if you aren’t here and want to be, feel free to send me an email to include you as well.

so since i started using bright kite, i’ve found i really like it. I’m impressed with it’s twitter integration as well. in addition, i’ve had a few people (hi kate!) say they don’t really care for the tweet digest everyday. so, i’ve opted to remove that option in twitter tools and move to a twitter badge in the sidebar, along with a brightkite plug in. it ain’t the prettiest right now, and i’ll eventually probably tweak it a bit.

dunno what’s been up with the theme of the blog over the past few days. finally broke down and just reloaded and rebuilt it. looks much more orderly now.

UPDATE: shit’s busted…already….

i’m trying another experiment in streaming audio. i liked the results from mister mixtape, but i’m trying something a little different (and decidedly more random).

feedback is definitely welcome….i’ll be adding tracks as i can…right now, it’s definitely more on the old school ska tip, but that should fix itself as i get more of the library added up.

if you ever read the website and been like…damn, i need to talk to that boy…now you can, just use the little chatterbox feature. whatever you type in there will be sent to me via googletalk. abuse at will.

this weekend i’ve decided to take the plunge and go back to handling my own hosting.  so, instead of using typepad, which has served me well for the past several years, i’ll be going with a wordpress blog that i’m hosting through the same servers that hosted mister mixtape. 

keep an eye out, and i’ll let you know when to update your feeds.

so i got rid of a lot of crap that was in the sidebar, making the whole blinkingline experience a little bit neater and easier on the eyes. i also changed the design. i like it…it’s a nice change of pace. if you hate it, tell me what you don’t like about it…
