most people know i like to listen to NPR. on my all time favorite list of NPR personalities, Daniel Schorr ranks up pretty high. Why ?

Ahoy hoy. Somewhere between toilets talking, people getting shot over spilt beer (I think I would have done much worse) others losing their heads on the drive home there is a new voice in the blinkingline universe…

why is it that when i read this, all i could think of was a parody of AC/DC’s “Money Talks”?

i cite the fact that he has WAY more free time than me.

if you thought that you had some issues with people toying with your beer, just be glad you didn’t mess with this guy.

unfortunately, they don’t show a picture of them, seems like they could be the new hip eyewear…

then there’s these guys who are apparently developing some beer goggle technology of their own.

i was doing some research the other day on different recipes with coffee and i stumbled across this amzingly simple (and delicious) recipe from Madagascar. I think it works well as a breakfast food, though it’s more traditionally served as a dessert.

Bananas baked in Coffee

4 bananas, peeled and sliced in half lengthways
1 cup of very strong black filter coffee
¾ cup Kahlua coffee liqueur
4 tablespoons of brown sugar

Place the bananas in a lightly buttered ovenproof dish
Mix the sugar, coffee and liqueur and pour over the bananas
Place in an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for 20 minutes
Serve hot with cream or ice cream

seems like all my stuff is crapping out on me lately. i’ve spent the latter half of my day recovering from way too much espresso and trying to get my laptop working again. i’m mostly done now, and wodnering what i should do with the rest of my evening. part of me wants to go out, part of me wants to take care of some shopping needs, and the rest of me wants to just crash out and be lazy…

i’ve just made some morningstar veggie buffalo wings, and pending a brief run out for a beer or a phonecall from someone asking me to meet them out, i’m probably going to just dork out and stay home…

today i ended up going in to work for a class on espresso preparation. this was technically the intermediate class, but i really should have taken a refresher on the beginning stuff first, as i had forgotten a lot of the topics presented there. it was a really fun crowd of people, though, and for being work and tying up a weekend, it could have been a lot worse.

last night a bunch of us went to city beverage. it was amazingly packed…for the first time ever, i had to wait to get a table. the food, beer, service, and of course, company were all top notch.
