i called in sick to work today. i’ve had a pretty good track record going at work as of late, but today i just felt like ass. i had a headache most of the day yeterday that i thought might have been associated with wednesday night’s trivia, but i rarely get hangovers and this just seemed to last far too long.

corey and i hung out with some friends of mine at all fun & games last night, but the headache persisted and i was starting to get a stuffy nose.

i didn’t sleep well last night at all and this morning i just felt awful. so i made the call in, and now i’m laying about the house drinking OJ and reading comic books. at some point i’ll have to hit the grocery store to get some stuff for dinner, but i’m hoping that it won’t be a tiresome process. it’s looking like i’m starting the new year off pretty poorly, but at least things can only get better, right?

this was at tooth paste for dinner a few days back. i think it’s funny.

so it’s now chirstmas night. the fmaily and friend visits are over, the gifts unwrapped, my dogs snoozing by the fireplace at my parent’s house, and here i sit at my computer hearing my mom spell out the address of the southport house to whoever she is taking to on the telephone.

the boredom has begun to set in, and i only have so many comic books.

i watched the end of the lakers/miami game with my dad. miami won, which i’ll say is a good thing, mainly because i never liked the lakers that much, even when i followed nba basketball more religiously.

i sent my friend jen an email because rumor has it that she, also being from this town, was supposed to be home for the festivities. so far, she hasn’t responded. perhaps a cell phone call is in order, but what’s the appropriate time to call on christmas night? after 7? 8? my god emily post, where are you now?

well, i’m home in hickory to hang out with the ‘rents for christmas. the one new addition is that someone around here now has an open wireless connection. which means i won’t have to try to scrounge up some wifi access while i’m here.

a few years ago, i did some traveling in india, and i can vouch that the majority of these bathroom photos do a pretty good job of revealing some of the unusual solutions that they come up with for those troubling water problems.

last night was trivia night at city beverage. as always, a fun time, though there was a relatively small crowd, mainly due to christmas and whatnot i’m guessing.

tonight corey and i are doing a little gift swapping action and some dinner, and then tomorrow afternoon i’ll be heading for hickory to visit with the folks.
