i’m looking for something fun to do on new year’s eve. if anyone has suggestions (um…yes…get plastered has already been suggested, thanks.) feel free to let me know.

just like with christmas, i typically put out a birthday wish list, about a month before my birthday. this year the list is even shorter than my christmas list:

(incidentally, these are in order of preference and/or need)
1) donate to one of the following charities:
coffee kids
heifer international
the names project
doctors without borders

2) i could use some new sheets (queen size).

3) anything from my amazon wish list. (you could be extra nice and use the amazon link in the “support” section and give me a little kickback as well.)

4) any of the following games: himalaya, caracassonne: the discovery, castle merchants, and gloom

trivia night went over pretty well. my worst fear of spewing vomit all over someone was, very fortunately, not realized. most people were very supportive of the fact i showed up, and heckling was pretty minimal.

today i’m feeling a lot better, it seems as though food is actually staying down, and i actually had an appetite a little bit. so hopefully that means the worst is over.

a few people have asked, and so here’s the answer:

as crappy as i’m feeling, i will still be at trivia night tonight. i will probably not be drinking, and possibly not my loud boisterous self…but i will be there and representing the best i can.

1) i’m pretty sick, as stated earlier. nothing has gone in my stomach and stayed for more than about 30 minutes…
2) i had to work today, because we’re consistently short handed, AND the other roaster called in sick. admittedly, he’s pretty sick too. but still.
3) when i got home, i found that the pipe on my water heater that was repaired JUST over a month ago. is broken. so i have another leak.
4) i spaced out and forgot my friend daren was coming to town today. super suck tastic. turns out i would have missed him anyway, but i would rather have not gotten so distracted by the other crap.

i’ve been throwing up all day. this is not a fun thing to do.

but, in keeping with tradition, the last trivia night of the year will feature a round 2 based on people who have left us during the year.

i had a really nice date last night….stayed out too late, so now i’m suffering…seems like this is becoming a trend.

if anyone happens to have some old copies of george orwell’s 1984 lying around, the oakland tribune would like to take it and send it to a member of congress so that maybe they will get scared as shitless as any normal person would be with the powers that have been given to dubya and his cronies in the name of “security”.

so best buy closed early yesterday. and since my itrip decided to randomly give up the ghost yesterday, my drive home today will be a wonderful journey into the annals of top 40 radio…oh. joy.
